Summerseat Methodist Primary Chair of Governors, Cllr Liam Dean attends Pearson National Teaching Awards

JAMES DALY Member of Parliament for  Bury North Working hard for everyone in Bury, Ramsbottom and Tottington

Cllr Liam James Dean last night attended the Pearson National Teaching Awards in his capacity as Chair of Governors of Summerseat Methodist Primary School.

The school was attending as one of their teachers, Miss Z Leyland, was nominated for Outstanding New Teacher of the Year. Miss Leyland achieved a National Silver Award and more information can be found here: https://www.teachingawards.com/award-winner/zoe-leyland/

Miss Leyland and Head Teacher (Mrs J Whittaker) and Epworth Trust CEO (Mrs J-A Hewitt) then joined Cllr Dean on Monday 29th November in meeting with James Daly MP in the House of Commons to congratulate Miss Leyland on her achievement. 

Mr Daly also saw that the Secretary of State for Education, Nadhim Zahawi was able to meet with the Summerseat Team in person to congratulate Miss Leyland on a fantastic achievement and thank the team for all the hard work they do.
