Neighbourhood Watch Groups across North Manor are being urged to apply for the latest round of grant funding to help kickstart, improve or expand their work promoting greater public participation in the prevention and detection of crime.
North Manor Councillor Liam James Dean has promoted the grant scheme from Neighbourhood Watch in the hope that registered Neighbourhood Watch members may find use for the grants available to ensure the purposes of Neighbourhood Watch are achieved.
Neighbourhood Watch is a grassroots charitable movement and is the largest crime prevention voluntary movement in England and Wales. With more than 2.3 million members, schemes are run by volunteers across England and Wales supported by volunteer Associations, and by Neighbourhood Watch Network, the national umbrella organisation for the movement.
Applications are now open for the Autumn round of funding, closing on 30th of November.
This round of grant funding will ensure 100% of available funds will go towards activities or one-off development projects that help groups promote and support the work of Neighbourhood Watch. Funding could also be for activities which address crime prevention and those that draw out some of our hard-to-reach communities, connecting them with neighbours in a social setting.
