Thousands of people have let me know their priorities for Bury North - through speaking to me on the doorstep or filling in a survey. I've listened carefully to everything you've told me, and I've come up with six key priorities that I will work tirelessly to achieve as your Member of Parliament for Bury North.
We will build the new homes Bury needs on brownfield sites
Working with partners we will enable the building of thousands of new homes, giving everyone in Bury the chance to get on the property ladder.
Create new jobs across the Borough
Working with partners we will deliver thousands of new jobs. Giving more residents the security of employment and creating opportunities for everyone.
Invest millions of pounds in our road network
We will take action to tackle the blight of potholes and re-surface more roads, investing in highway infrastructure to benefit motorists and pedestrians.
Invest further monies supporting our schools deliver high quality education
To give our young people the best opportunities in life through a good education, we would invest in services locally to support our hardworking teachers and other professionals.
Create thousands of new training places and apprenticeships
We will ensure local people have access to the best skills training for their future careers, giving our young people the best opportunity to thrive and succeed.
Veto the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework
We will oppose the concreting over of large areas of green belt, safeguarding the local environment and improving air quality.
